I advise and design for clever little businesses on their websites and and also work on UI projects small and large.
Bowley Design is my own business, combining the creative talents and experience of myself and my wife. Offering big ideas at small company rates, we focus on creating distinctive designs and offering brand and web consultancy services to both small businesses and individuals.
Our aim is to great simple, good quality designs that have maximum impact and add value to you or your business.
Ongoing part time freelance work, mainly providing design leadership on the My Hub web and mobile apps, and more recently on web projects for Geek Squad.
Between 2004 and 2009 I worked as a freelance senior creative at many top London design and advertising agencies, alongside running my own small creative business.
The agencies I worked for included Turnbull Ripley Design, Ogilvy (Mather Communications), J2 Design, Lambie-nairn, Adventis Group, Reef Design and The Brand Union.
Working mainly on O2 producing concepts, mood boards and guidelines for many brand activities and assisting in general O2 brand expression development. This included projects such as The O2 arena and the launch of O2 in the Czech Republic.
At Adventis I headed up a small team of creatives and production staff and, working with a creative director, implemented the new Savills identity across all of its UK branches. This included designing and specifying materials for all branch fascias and signage, along with creating property advertising guidelines and general branch communications materials.
At Optimism I was involved in designing and developing literature and identities. I worked directly with clients and suppliers and assisted in the running of the studio. Clients included COI, The Pension Service and Macromedia UK.
As both a team leader and as part of larger teams, I was involved in designing and developing major international brands and their identity systems. This included everything from concepts through to creating guidelines documents for clients such as Powergen, Seat and Andersen.
The Team gave me a good grounding in the design of printed literature and corporate identity. Projects included the restructuring of the NHS identity system, designing the Annual Report for Lloyds TSB Group, and redesigning the Comic Relief identity.
